Naburn Paddle Report

Last Sunday saw the National 12 Open meeting hosted by Yorkshire Ouse Sailing Club, Six boats contested for the Naburn Paddle. On a hot sunny day with very light winds this called for great skills from all the helms just to complete the race. With six boats competing the event which was contested over three races with the best two finishes to count. The event was won in great style by David Peacock with two race wins, David was a visiting sailor from Arden River Sailing Club  from Pershore, Worcestershire with his crew  Harrison Gration a local lad from York sailing in his first ever race, well done Harrison.
Second and third places were hotly contested by our own Yorkshire Ouse sailors Philip David and Vince Phillips with both the Phillips boys crewing, so a great family effort. With positions in the race changing several times throughout the race, finally Philip David took Second with crew Alex Phillips just piping  Vince and son Daniel on the line to take Third place.
I would like to thank all those who came down to help run the day to make it a success and to those who came down to the club to watch some excellent sailing.
