The club is 81 years old this year, and in each of those years keen sailors from all over northern England (and beyond!) have gathered at the club for an early summer festival of sailing. This year is no exception, with Enterprise Dinghies competing for their trophy on Saturday, and National Twelve dinghies competing on the Sunday. Both days will see excellent sailors and serious competition. On a lighter note there will be team racing on Saturday evening. The object of team racing isn’t necessarily for your boat to cross the finish line first, but is certainly is to prevent the opposition from doing so!
If you want to participate or for more information call Fiona on 07717 638699.
Don’t forget that the famous Naburn Afternoon Tea will be served on Sunday after sailing, and there will be a BBQ on Saturday evening. All are welcome, but if you do intend to eat at the club we would be grateful if, for catering purposes you could let Carol know, on 01904 468251.
Or just come down to the slipway in Naburn to experience the festival first hand, and if it inspires you to take up watersports, do look at our membership form. RYA training courses are available – contact Steve on 01904 468251
